Copyright

A copyright is a legal concept, enforced by most governments, giving a creator of an original work exclusive rights to it. It means that an creator has 'the right to copy', however, it also gives the copyright holder the right to be credited for the work, it determines who may adapt the work to other forms. A copy gives an artist protection for their work. If the creator has a original work then you have the right to copy right it in order to protect it from people being able to steal your work and making money from an creators work.

My group and I need to apply for copyright in order to be allowed to used the artists song. If we do not apply for it our music video that we created could be taken off of youtube if we try to upload our video. We could get taken to court if we do not get copyright. We sent an email to universal, and the email address was info@umusic.com.

  1. You have made a start in describing why music copyright is important in the industry, but you need to ensure that you have referenced your research.

Include your response from your record company, once you have received it
