group magazine

My group and I were able to share around the ideas and designs that we created for our magazine poster through the different designs every individual created. We were able to take pieces from each others work and make them into what we as a group thought would be the best design. Therefore we feel as if we have put together the work of everyone and created the magazine that everyone in our group has contributed to. Although we chose pieces of each others work, we are most likely going to chose the design that one person made as they will follow most of the conventions that are needed for our music video.

For My magazine poster I think that font that is used is good as it reflects the type of genre of song we have chose for our music video. I also like the fact that I has included a screen shot of the party behind the poster which makes it more conventional to the artists and music video. Also the parent advisory sticker in the corner of the poster is stereotypical for a dance genre song which is conventional. The magazine is conventional to the genre of song that we have chosen as it is representing the party scene from the background picture. Additionally, it allows the audience to understand our concept for the music video through the different clothes that me and Jake are wearing as artists. For this poster to be improved i think that the font should be made clearer.

For Amy's poster she has used the same picture that Aimee used which is conventional to the genre of music video that we are creating. The pictures that have been used also show the difference between me and Jake as Jake is still in his party clothes and i am wearing a suit which shows i am going to work. Amy has also included the infinity sign into the poster which allows the audience to easy remember the music video as it has the logo within it. Amy's poster is conventional as it has the red and green effect over it which allows the audience to easy re-call our music video as these were the colour themes for it. The infinity sign is conventional as stereotypically, dance artists have a logo, so this is stereotypical to the genre. Finally, i think Amy's poster could improve by maybe making the writing stand out more than what it is, as firstly you can see the pictures and then the logo, where we are trying to promote the album within this poster.

Finally, Jake's poster is good as he has got lines of pink and green going through the background, this makes the poster look as if is within a club scene which makes it conventional. The pictures that he has added, makes Jake look like he has had a rough night as he has a black eye and has sick patches over him. This allows the audience to understand that the boys live two different lives although they are artists together, creating the same songs. Jakes poster is conventional as he has kept to the colour scheme of the music video which is convention to our music. He has also included the title of our music video within the poster which allows people to understand the song through the poster that he has created. I think that Jake may have gone a little bit over the top with the neon lines as they are covering the background photo. He should also aim to put a glow over the top of picture to make it look effective.

My group and I have chose to use Amy's poster as it relates to our music video in the most detail as it follows the conventions. Also it follows the concept of our music video and allows the audience to understand more about the artist. Finally, Amy has followed the neon colour scheme throughout therefore creating a more diverse advert.
